Homework Due February 26th

Assignment- Textured Entwined Forms with Rounded & Flat Planes

Here is a step-by-step process of what I'm looking for. It's basically running over creative DIFFERENT textures in strategic areas on rounded and flat planes and surfaces on your inventive forms. I'll want at least 3 pages of these. Most likely that each page will have two intertwined angular and organic forms with carious textures involved.

Drawing References from the Hollywood Costume Show

This is an example of the quality and clarity that is expected in your drawings. Review your images before posting them. Make sure that you click on the image and select X-Large. We will be reviewing these in class by using the projector. No more posting them on the walls! So make sure they are big and clear enough for everyone to see. These examples consist of the under drawing/block out sketch in original color and the other a simple grey scan. Either is fine. Good luck and see you Thursday!

Due Dates for Homework and Field Trips

Hey folks,

Everything is due by 9pm, February 18th (Wednesday). Have everything posted in order with clearly scanned/cleaned images. Follow my scans as examples. Make sure the drawing process is clear (don't lose information). Don't go too high contrast with the drawings.

I would like to have each weeks assignment and field trips titles on separate posts;

We will not be posting the first assignment.

Assignment #2 title- Box Verb/Action, Lines and Ellipses Project

Assignment #3 title- Organic Fluid Form, Lines and Ellipses part 2

Assignment #4- Twisted Entwined Bubbles with Form Cut Outs
                             Textured/Value Scales (10 panels)

Field Trips; make sure scanned imagery shows off the process and clarity of armor/costumes/clothing forms and how they fit together. if necessary, scan the primary image on the dot matrix paper and then the tracing paper as separate images or sandwiched together to show the completeness of the concept.

LACMA- Samurai Armor Show

LACMA- Hollywood Oscar Costume Show

That is 5 total blog posts!
